Session 1: Treasure hunt |
Looking for something scary, soft, friendly, happy, or enormous, participants looked at the world around them in detail, while they fought against time to win the competition. In this activity they also practiced with the basic rules of composition, such as symmetry and the rule of thirds.
Session 2: Portrait and expressions
Children learnt how to use face and body language to express feelings and how to capture them with the camera, then they experimented with taking pictures of people in 3 formats (portrait/profile/full body).
Session 3: Photography spelling
The challenge in this case was to create a word using objects that look like letters of the alphabet. Another competition that made them look at the world with a different perspective.
Session 4: Selfies
Teams competed to guess more facts from the history of selfies, then they used some of the techniques learnt to take some creative selfies.
Session 5: Special effects
Students learnt how to use the green screen in order to create some special effects, then they played with facial expressions to act out some characters in imaginary situations.
Session 6: Forced perspective
In this session participants practiced how to play with perspective to create optical illusions. They discovered that it takes a lot of patience to make the special effect work but mainly that it requires a good teamwork, including leading and listening skills!
Session 7: History of photography quiz
This time teams competed to guess facts about the history of photography.
Session 8: Face swap
In this activity children discovered that pictures are not only digital: once they are printed they can be used for creative purposes, like a fun face swap using parts of their portraits!
